Watson slams Lawrence refereeing

SportsCentral does not make it a policy to attack refereering, but André Watson’s comments regarding Bryce Lawrence and his officiating of the Crusaders-Sharks game bear repetition.

Watson spoke to SportsCentral and said he stands by this article, as first published by News24′s JJ Harmse:

“The execution by Bryce Lawrence in Saturday’s playoff match between the Crusaders and Sharks was a one-off and probably a ‘brain explosion’.

“That was the view of South African referees manager André Watson on Monday when asked about a penalty awarded against the Sharks – even prior to the engagement in the scrum.”

Lawrence will also be in charge of the final.
