Tsotsobe’s move to Dolphins irks Warriors
Lonwabo Tsotsobe has done it again, failing to communicate properly with his club, the Warriors, and simply going AWOL and surfacing at the Dolphins.
Last season, Tsotsobe angered Essex when he posted on Twitter calling his time there “the worst two months of my life”, and he was released from his contract after five under-perfoming weeks.
Tsotsobe’s switch to the Dolphins was announced on Friday when CEO Jesse Chellan confirmed that Tsotsobe opted to play for them in the 2012-13 season and not the Warriors. He is a nationally contracted player and as such not beholden to the Warriors, but the Warriors are said to unhappy with Tsotsobe’s conduct.
They claim to have made many fruitless attempts to contact the left-arm paceman, without luck.
Tsotsobe joins former Lions quick Craig Alexander at the Dolphins, and will beef up the bowling unit which has that has lost Imran Tahir to the Lions and the now retired Friedel de Wet. “Lopsy [Tsotsobe] will add a great deal of value to our team,” Chellan said. “Even though we know he will not be available a lot of the time because of national commitments, he will help some of our young fast bowlers such as Mtokozisi Shezi and Kyle Abbott.”
Jonathan Vandiar, who is originally from KwaZulu-Natal, has also joined the Lions, replacing Loots Bosman who was not offered a contract.
The Lions have also acquired Hardus Viljoen, who opened the bowling with Marchant de Lange at Easterns. — Cricket Reporter, SportsCentral
