Fabio Capello’s plan to field eight new caps against Sweden ended in a 1-0 victory for the home team, their first against the Swedes in 43 years. Daniel Majstorovic was cedited with the own goal, which deflected into the net from a Gareth Barry header, in a match that never really rose to the ocassion, once again proving that England just do not the ability to score goals. I don’t know what Capello learned from this match as far as Euro 2012 goes, all it proved to me was that there are too few Englishmen playing Premier League Football.
- England 1 – 0 Sweden
