End of the road for Sanath

The seemingly endless career of Sanath Jayasuriya finally reached the end of the road as he was out cheaply and took one costly wicket in the first ODI against England. On a rain-affected first day, England were simply too powerful for a gun-shy Sri Lankan team, and the result was a 110-run Duckworth-Lewis drubbing.

South African-born Craig Kieswetter led the way with a lightning 61 off 56 balls. As is now the norm, England fielded six English-born players, four South Africans and an Irishman.

In Barbados, the seesawing Test series played out according to script as India folded for 201 and then hit back with three quick wickets. This game is most unlikely to last the distance.
